How to take care of your granite
- Use coasters under all glasses, particularly those containing alcohol or citrus juices. Many common foods and drinks contain acids that will etch or dull the surface of many stones.
- Clean surfaces with a few drops of neutral cleaner, stone soap (available at Timeless Stone Fabrication Inc.), or a mild liquid dishwashing detergent and warm water. Too much cleaner or soap may leave a film and cause streaks. DO NOT use products that contain lemon, vinegar, or other acids. Rinse the surface thoroughly after washing with the soap solution and dry with a soft cloth.
- Never use anything abrasive like steel wool, scouring pad, or scouring powders on your granite countertops.
- Blot the spill with a paper towel immediately. Don't wipe the area, it will spread the spill. Flush the area with plain water and mild soap and rinse several times. Dry the area thoroughly with a soft clothe. Repeat as necessary.
- If your countertop get stained, contact a natural stone fabricator for the best resolution as to how to rid the stain. Refrain from attempting to remove the stain yourself, in an effort to reduce anymore damage.
- All natural stone purchases from Timeless Stone Fabrication, Inc. will be sealed by Timeless Stone Fabrication, Inc. upon installation of the product.
- Seal your countertops yearly with a sealer that you can purchase at Timeless Stone Fabrication Inc. Spray the sealer onto your stone surface and wipe it in with a soft cloth. Once it soaks in, wipe the remaining sealant off the countertops with a soft cloth.

How durable are stone countertops and tile?
Stone countertops and tile are known for long-term durability and are designed to handle everyday use in high-traffic areas. Materials like quartz, granite, and tile surfaces are resistant to heat, scratches, and general wear, making them a reliable choice for kitchens, bathrooms, and other living spaces. When properly fabricated and installed, these surfaces can maintain their strength and appearance for many years.
What maintenance is required for stone countertops and tile?
Maintenance depends on the material selected. Quartz is typically low maintenance and does not require sealing, while natural stone like granite or marble may need periodic sealing to protect the surface. Tile is easy to maintain, though grout lines may require occasional cleaning or sealing over time. Routine cleaning with appropriate products helps preserve the finish and keep surfaces looking their best.
What cleaning products are safe for stone surfaces?
Stone surfaces should be cleaned with mild dish soap, warm water, or cleaners specifically designed for natural stone. Harsh chemicals like bleach, ammonia, or acidic cleaners can damage the surface and dull the finish over time. Timeless Stone Fabrication, Inc. recommends using gentle, non-abrasive products to maintain the appearance and longevity of your countertops.
